Marchesa Resort 2013

Draped by: Kathy Le
As a study abroad student I was most excited about the hands on classes taught by the best Korean apparel design professors.
After a semester at Hanyang University, my draping professor allowed us to choose on of three garments that she chose from.  I chose the hardest of three designs in order to reconstruct.
It took a total of four days, and about 19 plus hours of work. Needless to say, I was very proud of myself.

As I was constructing the dress, I kept running into proportional problems with the dress on the model versus on the mannequin.
So I took my drawing background, and drew in where the model's bust, waist and hips would be in the dress.  I drew the ground line in order to get a sense of the dress length.
By drawing in the lines, it enabled me to see how large or small I needed to make the top part of the dress.
